SATURDAY, JULY 17TH (7:30PM - 10:30PM) “ILL COSMIC”
Location : GREENSBORO FENCING ACADEMY - 2001 East Wendover Avenue parking lot
PLOTS:
Short film No.1 : The show that married martial arts and Hiphop… which featured a rotating roster of legends such as Guru, Queen Latifah, Masta Ace, Afrika Bambaataa, and members of De La Soul. While the show could lazily be described as "reverse Wu-Tang," the short film incorporated elements of comic book culture–namely, superimposed text and supernatural embellishments–it was edited in a cut-and-paste style reminiscent of Hiphop production techniques. If the original film is a record, then the 30-minute edit is a coherent sample: though comprised of mere elements, it still tells a cohesive story, like the best flips.
Short film No.2 : In the tradition of The Twilight Zone, this bizarre, thought-provoking trilogy where a conservative African American politician must choose between his people's survival and appeasing his white colleagues when space aliens propose to share their profound knowledge in exchange for all Black people on earth.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 14TH (7:30PM - 10:30PM) “THE SPOOK WHO SAT BY THE DOOR”
LOCATION TBA
PLOT:
The story takes place in the early 1970s in Chicago. A white U.S. Senator facing re-election is told that his speech on law and order has led to a decline in his popularity among his African-American constituents. To regain their support, his wife suggests that as a publicity stunt, he point out the lack African-American agents in the CIA. The CIA responds to this political pressure by recruiting African Americans for their training program however, secretly they take several measures to ensure that no one would be able to complete the process.

Set to blaze the planet, not everyone can solve his nonsensical ravings that he claims are hiding in plain sight. Through a series of montages, Hiphop & pop culture references, mixed with social critique, please join us on SUNDAY, JUNE 20th at The Khalif Event Center parking lot, located at 2000 E. Wendover Ave. in Greensboro for this "mystery, in a riddle, inside an enigma" ’Woke Fu Theatre’ fundraising event.
